Funds Development: Donor Societies: Raleigh Tavern Society

Annual membership of the Raleigh Tavern Society includes those friends of Colonial
Williamsburg who make an unrestricted gift of cash or securities valued
at $5,000 or more during a year. Membership in the Society provides individuals
with access to a number of unique
activities and benefits. There are also several special
recognition levels within the Raleigh Tavern Society.
Become
a Raleigh Tavern Society Member
-
Members are invited to an annual Raleigh Tavern
Society meeting, which includes dinner, special entertainment, special
behind-the-scenes activities, and an up-to-date report on Colonial
Williamsburg. The 2008 meetings are scheduled for May 16-18 and September
26-28.
-
Members may reserve accommodations at the Dr. Barraud
House, one of Colonial Williamsburg's best-preserved eighteenth-century
dwellings. This beautiful example of colonial architecture serves
as a "home away from home" for members of the Raleigh Tavern Society.
The furnishings, the gardens, the attention to detail, the special
amenities - all are designed to give guests an experience unequaled
anywhere else.
-
-
Each member receives Advices, a semi-annual
newsletter, and a credit card for use in Colonial Williamsburg hotels,
restaurants, and gift shops.
-
In recognition of the special interest Society members
have in the Foundation's activities and programs, a permanent office
of the Raleigh Tavern Society has been established to encourage members
to participate in a wide variety of Colonial Williamsburg activities.
-
Our donor relations coordinators are happy
to assist members in making room and dining reservations and
help members enjoy all activities of our Historic Area. Special
consideration and assistance is given to all requests made
by members of the Raleigh Tavern Society. Please call 1-888-293-1776
or e-mail gifts@cwf.org for
more information.
-
Members of the Raleigh Tavern Society are recognized
in the Foundation's Annual Report, and a record of membership is kept
in a handmade, leather-bound book in the office of the president of
the Foundation. Members are also honored in other appropriate ways.
Of course, requests for anonymity will be respected.
The Apollo Room Circle
The Apollo Room Circle is a special recognition level for individuals
who give $7,500 or more each year. Members of this group receive special
recognition in the Foundation's Annual Report, during Raleigh Tavern
Society meetings, and on all membership lists.
Keeper of the Key
Keeper of the Key is a special recognition level for individuals who
give $10,000 or more each year. Members of this group receive special
recognition in the Foundation's Annual Report, during Raleigh Tavern
Society meetings, and on the membership lists.
Life Membership
Life members of the Raleigh Tavern Society are those individuals whose
total gifts of cash or securities to Colonial Williamsburg exceed $500,000
or an equivalent irrevocable life income gift. Individuals making gifts
of objects with a total value of $1 million or more will qualify for
life membership. Since the primary purpose of the Raleigh Tavern Society
is to recognize those individuals who assist the Foundation in financing
its current programs, annual gifts of objects - which are most welcome
- are not eligible in meeting the criteria for annual membership in
the Society.
